The American ORT Federation will conduct its fund-raising campaign independent of the Joint Distribution Committee this year, it was announced today, and a world quota of $750,000 has been set, of which about $375,000 will be sought in the United States.
B.C. Vladeck, president of the American ORT, explained that the separation from the J.D.C. was decided upon after the two agencies agreed that such a course “would be in the best interests of both organizations.” He added that the ORT was now organizing a national campaign board.
