Will Erect Synagogue in Memory of Dr. Klein
Tribute to the memory of the late Dr. Philip Klein, who was for more than forty years rabbi of Congregation Ohab Zedek, will be paid by the members of the congregation and sisterhood who will make a pilgrimage next spring to Palestine, Where a Rabbi Philip Klein Synagogue is to be erected. A decision to make the pilgrimage was reached at a celebration of the Sisterhood marking its twentieth anniversary, held aboard the steamer Olympic.
Morris Engelman is arranging the pilgrimage, which will include a tour of European countries, the members arriving in Palestine for the Passover holiday.
Speakers at the celebration included Rabbi Isaiah Levy, spiritual leader of the congregation, Joseph C. Hyman, secretary of the Joint Distribution Committee, William Weiss, president of the Congregation.
It was announced that persons who are not members of the congregation may join in the pilgrimage.
