Orthodox Elements Win in Amsterdam Jewish Community Elections

Orthodox elements in the Ashkenazi community of Amsterdam have emerged victorious in the recent communal elections, it was revealed here today.

A combined Mizrachi-“East European” slate gained three seats to take the leading position with 12 members on the 30-member community council. Although the Zionist slate came in second with eight councilmen, in actuality 20 of the 30 councilmen belong to some Zionist party.
