A split in the ranks of Palestine Jewish labor was foreshadowed today when two orthodox labor groups moved toward an alignment against the Socialistic Histadruth, Jewish general federation of labor in Palestine.
It was decided to form a labor exchange jointly sponsored by the Poel Aguda, orthodox Jewish labor organization, and the Poel Hamizrachi, Zionist labor group. The first body is not Zionist.
A resolution for creation of the exchange was adopted yesterday at the closing session of the international convention of the Agudath Israel, extreme orthodox organization, which is the parent body of the Poel Aguda.
The decision is subject to the approval of the Agudath Israel’s world council.
