The Poale Agudas Israel today announced its intention of conducting an independent fund-raising campaign in Britain despite a recent Jewish Agency statement to the effect that such a drive would be “unjustified” because of the fact that the Orthodox movement received aid from the Agency for its settlements in Israel.
In a statement released here the Poale Agudah said that in the light of its experiences last year when it had great difficulty in coming to an agreement with the Joint Palestine Appeal it would conduct its campaign here separately. The Poale Agudah campaign is scheduled to get under way February 2, a week before Israeli Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett is due to arrive to launch the Joint Palestine Appeal.
