The annual convention of the Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the United States and Canada will open in Belmar, N. J., May 20 and continue until May 22. The sessions will be held at the Carleton Hotel, it was announced.
A decision on the Union’s attitude toward the Jewish Agency will be taken at the convention.
Other problems to be discussed will deal with the strengthening of Judaism in this country, Jewish education and the function of the synagogue.
Rabbi Israel Rosenberg, the president, will present his message at the opening session.
