More than 300 delegates representing 112 Orthodox youth chapters in 28 states met today for the first session of the four-day eighth annual national convention of the National Conference of Synagogue Youth. The organization is an affiliate of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America.
Speakers during the sessions will include Rabbi Zalman Schachter, Hillel Foundation director at the University of Manitoba; Rabbi Aaron Gewirtz, Hillel director at the University of Connecticut; and Avraham Carmel, a convert to Judaism from Catholicism.
