Complete elimination of Jews from Italian professional, political, economic and social life is expected here within the next six months.

In view of the rapidly rising Jewish unemployment, resulting from spreading “Aryan” propaganda, organized efforts have already been initiated for retraining of men in various trades and girls as domestics and seamstresses, although prospects of their absorption in economic life even in these occupations is considered very slight.

Anti-Semitism will be injected into the entire Italian educational system under a plan presented to the Fascist Grand Council by Education Minister Guiseppe Bottai. The plan, designed to put education on a totalitarian basis, was described by Bottai as a pet scheme of Premier Benito Mussolini, who wanted, he said, to adapt Italian education to the new “atmosphere” created by the Fascist racial doctrine. Existing Italian laws were not equipped to bring about this radical change, Bottai asserted, and the new project was therefore considered necessary to alter the school system in the desired direction.
