Outgoing Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak is expressing surprise at allegations that he played a key role in President Clinton’s decision to pardon fugitive financier Marc Rich. Reuters quoted a spokesman for Barak as saying that he is surprised “that people in Clinton’s circle are rolling responsibility for the pardoning of Rich in Israel’s direction.”
