The British White Paper embodying plans for settlement of the Palestine question will be issued next Wednesday, it was reported today by the Arab newspaper Falastin. The public will be informed of the broad lines of the final plan by radio Tuesday night, it was said.
According to Falastin the document will comprise 22 pages and will be published in English and Arabic. The plan will contain various 11th hour modifications arising out of decisions reached at the Pan-Arab talks at Cairo which followed the triangular conference in London.
These changes, Falastin said, will pertain to the transition period during which the Mandatory Power will continue to exert authority, the question of transfer of power to Palestine nationals, and allocation of the new ministries among representatives of the various communities. It was understood that these revisions, which will be contained in the last three pages of the document, caused the delay in publication.
A military court yesterday sentenced Israel Shield, Revisionist, to a year’s imprisonment for having entered the Jewish Agency building in March carrying inflammatory material.
