More than 100,000 pounds of foodstuffs, clothing and medical supplies have been sent to Israel by the Canadian Aid-to-Israel campaign, was announced here today by Harry Batshaw, chairman of the drive.
Batshaw also disclosed that more than $175,000 has already been pledged by various affiliated groups for the conversion of the former Canadian wing of the Tel Litwinsky Medical Center into a general hospital which will be equipped to receive now Immigrants to the Jewish state and will serve as a rehabilitation center. The center, which was built by the U.S. Army during the war, served as a rest camp for American troops in the Middle East.
