New York has contributed to date over $1,000,000 to the campaign of the United Palestine Appeal, according to an anouncement made yesterday by Judge Otto A. Rosalsky, Chairman of the United Palestine Appeal for Greater New York.
In his announcement Judge Rosalsky reported that more than $75,000 had been raised in a number of appeals in the New York synagogues during the Passover holiday, bringing the total over the million dollar mark. The receipt of income according to sections of the Greater city is as follows: Long Island, $78,000; East Side, $51,900; West Side, $56,751; Harlem and Yorkville, $23,000; Washington Heights, $25,800; Bronx, $65,000; Westchester, $32,847; Williamsburg, $58,710; Eastern Parkway, $60,800; Brownsville, $53,000; East New York, $24,000; South Brooklyn-Bay Ridge, $15,000; Flatbush, $42,000; Bensonhurst, $36,336; the Beaches, $11,000; Mapleton Park, $6,500; Borough Park, $53,000. The rest of the total is made up by individual contributions.
According to Judge Rosalsky, the results thus far obtained are greater, compared with last year.
