Dr. Baruch Levin, who has begun producing penicillin in Palestine, described to reporters today how his small laboratory here turns out 10,000,000 units of crude penicillin every month. He said that four times as much could be produced if additional facilities were available.
Dr. Levin is able to produce only penicillin which can be used externally, because of his limited laboratory facilities. However, even with this limitation, physicians report extraordinary results have been achieved with both human beings and animals. Over 100,000 cows, for instance, have received penicillin injections as an aid in preventing diseases to which they are subject.
