Some 20,000 Jewish widows have arrived in Israel since its establishment as a state, Mrs. Beba Idelson, member of the Israel Parliament and secretary of the Working Women’s Council of Israel, today told a news conference.
Mrs. Idelson said that the integration of these widows and unattached youths in the economic and social life of the country is one of the major tasks facing the Council today. Mrs, Idelson, who addressed over 60 meetings in the United States and Canada during her recent visit there, will tour Britain in behalf of the Council.
