More than 2,500 persons participated in an official welcome to Reuven Dafni, Israeli consul-general for the West Coast. Mayor Elmer E. Robinson and the consuls-general of Belgium, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Eire, Venezuela, Mexico and the Philippines joined in the reception, which was sponsored by the Associated Jewish Organizations of San Francisco.
The reception was held at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium and Jefferson E. Peyser served as chairman. Rabbi Morris Goldstein, president of the A.J.O., introduced Mr. Dafni to the gathering.
