The National Refugee Service spent a total of $1,035,258 in the four-month period from January to April, 1941, for cash relief, resettlement, job placement, retraining and other services for refugees in the United States, the United Jewish Appeal announced today. An average of 3,000 cases a month, involving 7,821 individuals, received direct financial assistance amounting to $559,324 it was stated.
