The Jewish National Welfare Fund of San Francisco, incorporating the annual contribution of the San Francisco Jewish community to national and international Jewish philanthropic and cultural agencies, exceeded its $260,000 campaign by ten percent, it was declared at the conclusion of the drive yesterday. This was termed the most successful effort of Jewish character in the past four years.
Leon Sloss, Jr. was director and Richard Gutstadt. assistant director, of the campaign. The fund represents all Jewish organized effort in this community and includes rabbinical seminaries, the B’nai Brith Wider Scope Campaign, national hospitals and other beneficiaries.
