The Ozet, organization for settlement of Jews on land, has assigned 300,000 rubles for rebuilding the stage in the Jewish theatre in Biro-Bidjan, autonomous Jewish territory. Also, a subsidy of 150,000 rubles was granted in addition to grants which the theatre will receive from the Government. The theatre has 36 artists and an orchestra of 15 pieces. It is named after Lazare Kagan ovich, Soviet Transportation Commissar.
