Police are investigating the claims of an anti-Semitic student named Constantine Dimitrescu, from Jassy, who yesterday entered the offices of the newspaper Adeverul and shot at Emanuel Socor, a Jewish editor. Socor was not hurt. Dimitrescu declared he had been instigated by a lawyer named Lefter who was the son-in-law of the anti-Semite Professor Cuza of Jassy, and who had given him $12 to buy a revolver and told him he would get $125 if he succeeded in killing the editor.
Dimistrescu also stated he was a member of the Anti-Semitic League of the Archangel Michael.
He fired twice at Socor, but missed both times. Then he stunned him with the butt of the revolver. Dimitrescu was seized by people in the office and held until police came.
