The sharp decline in the fortunes of the Austrian branch of the Rothschild family since the World War, was made clear today, when Eugene Rothschild announced that the magnificent palace of the Rothschild family in Prince Eugene street would be offered for sale.
He declared that excessive tax burden and the cost of the upkeep of the palace were forcing him to sell the building and move to Paris.
