In a surprise statement to the press today, Hussein el Khalidi, one of the four members of the Palestine Arab Higher Executive, said that the Arabs of Palestine no longer have any confidence that the diplomatic efforts of the Arab League will solve the Palestine problem.
Khalidi, who has just returned from an important conference in Alexandria of all members of the Higher Executive with the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, said that Palestine Arabs are now determined to find a solution of the problem by their own means and will appeal for a “national struggle.”Observers here interpreted the statement as a reflection of dissatisfaction with the results so far achieved by the delegates of the Arab states at the London conference on Palestine.
