Emil Ghouri, speaking for the Palestine Arab Higher Executive, said tonight that the “Arabs will fight the (UNSCOP) recommendations with all their might and the help of the Arab states.”
He told a press conference that the Palestine Arabs were unalterably opposed to partition and the establishment of a Jewish state. The recommendations of the U.N. committee justify “our decision to boycott it,” Ghouri added. He said, however, that a special Arab delegation from Palestine will be sent to Lake Success to fight the UNSCOP recommendations.
A meeting of the Arab executive was held in Cairo today, under the chairmanship of the ex-Mufti. After discussing means of combatting the UNSCOP recommendations, the conferees decided to call an emergency session of the executive in Cairo later this week.
