A Palestine-born nurse, who received her training in the Hadassah Nurses Training School in Jerusalem during World War I, is joining the United States Army for active service, it was disclosed today by the Hadassah office here.
The nurse is Miss Judith Alkalay, who has been accepted by the New York Hospital unit of the Ninth General Hospital, U.S. Army. Miss Alkalay, who is an American citizen, has expressed the hope that she will have an opportunity to serve on the Egyptian front, where she believes her special training in tropical diseases and her knowledge of Arabic will be useful.
