The Government is constructing 12 new coast guard stations as part of an intensified effort to check illegal immigration into Palestine it was learned today.

The stations six of which have already been completed will be located at regular intervals along Palestine a 200 mile coastline. Each will be manned by crews of six Englishmen and six Palestinians attached to the mounted or motorized police. Powerful searchlights will sweep the coastal waters from these posts to detect ships attempting to land refugees illegally.

Unofficial estimates published here reveal that more than 6,000 immigrants have tried to enter the country without the proper documents. They came on 19 vessels and 1,200 were sent back on the same ships About 4,700 were arrested but finally permitted to remain in Palestine.
