The strike of Arab and Jewish bus-drivers, chauffeurs and taxi men scheduled to begin tomorrow throughout Palestine was postponed today for one month on the request of the government which in the meantime undertakes not to impose license fees and to consider favorably the other demands of the chauffeurs and bus drivers.
The strike had been called as a protest against high import duties on gasoline and automobile accessories. stiff license fees and other excessive taxes. If the strike had gone into effect it would have stopped all automobile transportation in Palestine and affected 4,000 Jewish and Arab families.
