The High Commissioner, General Sir Arthur Wauchope, has after a long discussion with a deputation of the Citrus Fruit Committee announced that the proposed levy on citrus fruit will not be proceeded with, and that the present arrangement whereby owners of infected groves pay the cost of the necessary fumigation will be continued for the present. Representatives of the Department of Agriculture will confer with representatives of the industry to decide on future procedure.
