Mr. David Adams (Labour) asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies in the House of Commons to-day if he was able to state the amount of interest received by the Palestine Government during the last convenient year from securities in which local currency had been invested.

Sir Robert Hamilton, the Under-Secretary for the Colonies, said:

I assume that Mr. Adams refers to the investment of the surplus funds and loan balance of the Palestine Government. The interest received on this account in the year 1931 was £# £52,793.
