The forests in honor of the late King Peter of Serbia and President Masaryk of Czechoslovakia were dedicated yesterday at Ginegar and Sarid respectively. Among the numerous guests and speakers were the son of Sir John Chancellor, High Commissioner, M. M. Ussishkin, head of the Jewish National Fund, on whose land the trees were planted, the Yugoslavian and Czechoslovakian consuls, Col. Frederick Kisch, Dr. Alklay, head of the Belgrade Zionists who came here for the ceremonies and representatives of the workers’ organizations.
Many messages of greeting were received from Czechoslovakia and Jugoslavia, the Jews of which countries furnished the funds for the forests in honor of the two statesmen who have long been friends of Zionism. The King Peter Forest contains 13,050 trees and the Masaryk Forest contains 10,000.
