The possibility that the Jews of Palestine will be represented at the forthcoming World Jewish Conference in Atlantic City by only one delegate instead of the eleven elected by the Jewish National council, was seen here today following an announcement that so far only one delegate has succeeded in receiving priority on transportation to the United States.
The delegate who was given transportation facilities is Bernard Joseph, legal advisor of the Jewish Agency executive. An appeal is now being made by Dr. Nahum Goldmann to military authorities in Cairo to secure transportation for the other ten delegates. It was expected that some of the delegates would proceed to the United States by ship, but it is now doubtful whether any ship carrying civilians to the United States will leave these shores before November 12, when the World Jewish Conference is scheduled to open, under the auspices of the World Jewish Congress.
