Palestine’s purchases from the United States have almost doubled during the current year over last year’s figure, according to a report from the American Consulate-General in Jerusalem released today by the Commerce Department.
Imports of American products into Palestine in the first seven months of 1939 were valued at $5,012,000, compared with $2,740,000 in the corresponding period last year. The share of the United States in the total trade of Palestine increased from 8 per cent to 12 per cent.
