The Palestine Economic Corporation has called a meeting of all those interested in the development of Palestine to be held on Tuesday, June 11th at 8 P. M. at the Astor Hotel.
At this meeting Mr. Felix M. Warburg, Dr. Cyrus Adler and Mr. Julius Simon, who have just returned from Palestine, will speak on conditions as they observed them on their recent trip. The meeting is to be informative only and there will be no solicitation of funds.
The Corporation’s two representatives in Palestine, Mr. Emanuel N. Mohl and Mr. Harry Viteles, will speak on the work of the Corporation during the last few years.
The Palestine Economic Corporation is an organization of American Jews interested in the social economic development of Palestine. Recently this corporation announced that it had completed the arrangement for the purchase of a tract of land near Haifa in cooperation with the Jewish National Fund. It also participated in the Palestine Mining Syndicate, Ltd., which company was organized to obtain the concession for the exploitation of minerals in the Dead Sea. This concession as announced in the Bulletin was granted by the British Colonial Office to Mr. M. A. Novomejski, the director of the Syndicate.
The officers of the Corporation are as follows: Bernard Flexner, President; Louis Marshall, Herbert H. Lehman, Julius Simon, Robert Szold, Felix M. Warburg, Vice-Presidents; Walter E. Meyer, Treasurer.
