A greater economic program of increased industrial and agricultural development in Palestine was outlined tonight by Robert Szold, prominent leader in Jewish affairs, at a testimonial dinner given in his honor at the Bilt(##)cre Hotel under the auspices of the Palestine Economic Corporation, largest American enterprise in Palestine.
Mr. Szold stated that Palestine is a going concern, economically speaking, and that rapid progress is possible in those trades and industries where skill, ingenuity and scientific training are important. Stressing the corporation’s past activities, Mr. Szold said: “For our part, we are going ahead with plans to build more low-cost homes, to make available more credit for agricultural purposes, to develop new sources of water, and to finance new manufacturing enterprises.”
