Grave fears are expressed in local industrial circles at the outcome of the present neglect by Palestine factories of the foreign markets built up laboriously in past years. In view of increased domestic consumption, the factories are unable to produce sufficient for the local markets, and consequently are forced to ignore the expert trade.
Complaints are reaching Palestine from Syria and neighboring countries that factories here either do not fill or only partly meet the stream of orders flowing in. Several factories in this city have stopped accepting orders for export, and are working double shifts in order to ensure an adequate output for the home markets.
