The new regulations on fruit export published by the authorities last week have caused much dissatisfaction among the orange merchants here and several protest meeting have been held.
Resolutions of protest have been sent to the High Commissioner and the Direst Commissioner. A Special commission has been elected by the fruit exporters to negotiated with the Government to secure the amendment of the regulations, particularly in regard to the article providing for the payment of an inspection fee of 1 mil per case. The merchants intend stopping all export it their demands are not granted.
