(Jewish Telegraphic Agency)

The Palestine government has promulgated a new law which exempts cotton, wool and silk yarns from import duty.

The promulgation of this law is welcomed here by manufacturers as it is expected to result in an improvement of the position of the textile industry. The projected textile industry is expected to grow at a rapid pace from now on and it is predicted that the Austrian manufacturer Delphiner, who recently closed his factory in Haifa owing to the high tariff on raw materials, will reopen his plant.
