Jewish refugees from many parts of Europe who were liberated from internment camps after the Allied invasion of Italy will have matzohs this Passover for the first time in several years, it was learned here today.
In reply to an appeal from Chief Rabbi Herzog, the Palestine Food Comptroller has agreed to permit the shipment of eighty tons of matzohs to the liberated portions of Italy for use by the refugees, most of whom are presently housed in Allied camps. The matzohs will be sent immediately in order to reach Italy in time for the first Seder.
