Imposition of an income tax to make up for a decline in customs and the wartime restriction of grants-in-aid by the United Kingdom is being considered by the Palestine Government, it was officially announced today.
Jews are already subject to an income tax ranging from one to 20 per cent, proclaimed as an emergency measure by the Jewish National Council, representative body of the Holy Land’s 460,000 Jews.
