The division of the country into zones of employment for Jews and Arabs in governmental public works is said to be a method now considered by the government for securing what it believes to be a fair division of employment. According to the plan, certain zones are to be earmarked for the employment of Jewish labor exclusively. This would not however disqualify Jews from securing employment under other contracts. The governmental budget for public works in the near future calls for the expenditure of three quarters of a million pounds. The portion which is to be given to Jewish workers exclusively is not to exceed 10%. It is stated that the government is energetically seeking to solve the problem of securing adequate employment of Jews in government works.
