That the pales tine Government approached the Colonial Office to intervene with the “London Times” to secure the dismissal of Gershon Agrousky, an American, as its correspondent, on the ground that he is a Jew was revealed to the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry, by Sir Boyd Merriman, counsel for the Jewish Agency.
The request to the Colonial office was forwarded by the Palestine Government at a time when Mr. Agronsky had not yet assumed his work for the “Times,” he being on his way from the Zionist Congress to Palestine.
Mr. Agronsky, who is the correspondent of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, despite the request of the Palestine officials, was appointed by the “London Times” to act as its correspondent, pending the return of its regular correspondent, Cannon Danby.
These facts developed following the testimony of two Americans. Viacent Shean, correspondent of the New York “World,” and the North American Newspaper Alliance, and Miss Anne Goldsmith, an English teacher.
