The Palestine government today approved a loan of $500,000 for the Transjordanian area, $150,000 of which, it was specified, will be for the assistance of the peasants.
The loan was granted out of the $17,000,000 surplus of the Palestine government.
High Commissioner Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope has been so solicitous of the welfare of the peasantry that he has become known as the “Peasants High Commissioner.”
