In the presence of several survivors of the Bilu, the organization of Zionist pioneers who came from Russia to Palestine sixty years ago, the sixtieth anniversary of the settlement of the village of Rishon Lesion, founded in 1882, was marked here yesterday.
A message from Sir Harold MacMichael, Palestine High Commissioner, lauded the “remarkable work that has been achieved in spite of every difficulty during a long period of existence, due above all to the indefatigable industry and enthusiasm of its members.”
