Orders for over $2,000,000 worth of American machinery and capital goods have been placed in the United States for Palestinian importers by the Palestine Purchasing Service, which is a partnership of the American Palestine Trading Corporation “Ampal” and the Palestine Economic Corporation, it was announced today.
The Ampal also facilitated the importation of Palestinian manufactured goods valued at close to $1,000,000, the announcement said. It added that the Ampal will next month pay the fifth consecutive dividend of four percent to its 6,000 shareholders and that during 1946 the registered capital of the corporation was increased from $1,100,000 to $3,300,000. The actual paid up capital was increased from $1,100,000 to $1,750,000.
