It is estimated that there are 3013 passenger cars, 350 trucks and 161 motor cycles registered in Palestine. Prior to the late war there was only one motor car in Palestine. Since the military occupation the demand for automobiles has been steadily growing so that the army stocks of trucks and automobiles has not only been absorbed but a larger number of new passenger cars have been imported in addition.
The imports of American passenger cars during the first time months of 1924 equalled the entire member imported during the calendar year 1923. Automobiles are essential for the movement of tourist traffic in Palestine.
