A memorial meeting in the amphitheater of the Hebrew University on Mt. Scopus and a special broadcast from the “Herzl Room” of the JNF building here today featured the observance of the 40th anniversary of the death of the founder of modern Zionism.
The meeting in the University amphitheater was addressed by David Ben-Gurion and other members of the Jewish Agency. Following the broadcast from the “Herzl Room,” his biographer, Martha Hoffman, traced Herzl’s development from his childhood until he became the ideological leader of present-day Zionism.
