A “victory reception” for the diplomatic corps of the United Nations was given here last night by the DAIA, central Jewish representative body, It was attended by diplomats of sixteen of the United Nations.
Dr. Moises Goldmann, president of the DAIA, addressing the gathering, pointed not Jewish contributions to the Allied victory and expressed the hope that the defeat of the Germans will result in a real peace for all peoples. The British Ambassador, Sir David Kelly, lauded the contribution made by the Jews of Argentina toward winning the war. The representative of France expressed the hope that a Jewish State will be established in appreciation of the Jewish war efforts in all democratic countries. Mrs, Ida Silverman of New York was one of the speakers.
