“The Yishuv will face danger proudly and will stand firm in defense of the country and its national honor,” the 200 Palestine Jewish writers who have been meeting here at a special conference to stimulate the war effort proclaimed today at the conclusion of their sessions.
The proclamation offered “warm brotherly consolation and encouragement” to Jews everywhere, and bid them not to despair for “the day is not far when the clouds hanging over the globe will be dispersed and the light will shine also for you. We are sure that your sacrifices are not in vain. Your blood will be avenged. Your spilt blood, tears and sufferings will be converted into new strength and in a new world you will see the road to Zion. There can be no greater consolation and reward for the Jewish people than a free, natural, national life.”
