The question of whether the Hechalutz movement should be united, or whether each Zionist party should have its own facilities for training pioneers for Palestine, was the center of discussion today at the Histadruth conference here.
The opposition group within the Histadruth, as well as teh Poale-Zion and the Hashomer Hatzair, opposed unification of the Hechalutz, arguing that the education of Jewis youth cannot be trusted to groups like the Hapeol Hamizrachi, the religious wing of the Palestine labor movement. David Ben-Gurion defended creation of a united hechalutz.
A delegation of the Histadruth conference today visited the Chief Secretary of the Palestine Government and appealed for the opening of Palestine to immigration of Jews from liberated parts of Europe, emphasizing the urgent necessity for such emigration.
