The League to Aid Russia, established several months ago by leading Jews here, today received a cablegram from Soviet ambassador Maisky in London, thanking it for the money it has donated to the fund being raised by the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee in Kuibyshev to purchase 1,000 tanks and 500 fighter planes for the Red Army, as a special gift from the Jews of the world.
Answers to the appeal issued at the Jewish Anti-Fascist Rally in Kuibyshav in May for contributions to this fund have already been received by the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee from the Federation of Synagogues in Sydney and from Jewish groups in the United States, England and Brazil.
