A hitch in the negotiations reported to have been taking place between the Government and certain Arab notables for the establishment of a Legislative Council in Palestine is said by the “Falastin,” the official organ of the Palestine Arab Executive, to have occurred with the result that the negotiations have been broken off.
The “Falastin” demands that the notables should now make public the details of the negotiations and all documents connected with them. One of the notables who has been approached by the paper for this purpose, it states, refused to give any information on the ground that the negotiations were confidential and that they must not be made public. The paper urges both parties to publish the full facts and threatens that if they do not do so, it will publish the information which it has obtained, without respect for the Government or the Arab negotiators.
