Palestine May Have British Colonial Research Station

Palestine will come within the range of the Colonial Scientific Research Service which will soon be introduced in the colonies and dominions of Great Britain, according to recommendations adopted by the Colonial Conference.

An annual budget of £175,000 for this work was provided. It is possible that one of the research stations will be established in Palestine.

A twenty-acre estate with a cornage at Croton-on-the-Hudson has been punchased by the Jewish Social Service Association, formerly the United Hebrew Charities, and will be used as a summer camp for undernourished children, it was announced yesterday by Miss Frances Taussis, executive director of the organization.

The unclears nucleus for the camp fund was provided by the Centennial Lodge of the Masonic Order, which contributed $5,000

A contract was let for the building of a new synagogue in Briston, Va. Work of tearing down the present building on the site will be become at once. The new synagogue will cost $15,000, of which sum only $3,500 is yet to be raised.

Supreme Court Justice Joseph M. Proskauer chairman of the $1,500,000 drive of the Y. M. H. A. for a new building on Lexington Announce that a total of $1,250,000 has already been reached.

The contributions reported were headed by $3,000 gift from Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Ritten been and three gifts of $1,000 each from Morris E. Gossett, Ginsburg Bres, and Edward Steinam.
